Everyone is invited to the Clay County Moonshine Daze Thursday through Saturday, August 28-30. There will be several events throughout the weekend, to include: Friday and Saturday – 6 pm – Local Talent and Skits Hillbilly Style – Jokes, Music, and Laughs Hillbilly Purdy Contest – 6 pm – Boys and Girls ages 1 month – 19 years – competing in age groups Marble tournament, bass fishing tournament, bootlegger trial, shiners jail cell, parent child look-a-like contest, beard and mustache contest, moonshine parade, kiss the pig, hollerin’ contest, greased pole climb, purdiest hen and rooster, story telling, kid’z rowdy range, petting zoo, inflatables, bungee jump, carnival games, playground gym, greased pig chase, lil’ thunder railroad rides, firefighters challenge, revenuer’s ride (bicycle ride), moonshine stagger (5K run), “Dumas Walker” marble tournament, cornhole tournament, civil war encampment, Hatfield & McCoy’s, family challenge, pecan cook-off, and outhouse races.
