Everyone likes a fizzy drink,and on a sweltering day no one can really resist a bottle of coke or pepsi.Now there are growing concerns that fizzy drinks and sweet juices could be more dangerous for health than previously thought.Scientist are advising health officials that all fizzy drinks should carry health warnins,similar to what u find on packs of cigarettes.In fact,on experts says that a recent study now shows that anyone who drinks a bottle or can of soft drink is prone to incease the risk of type 2 diabetes by a fifth. For those having two soft drinks,it rose a further 22 per cent over those having one drink.Type 2 diabetes is strongly linked to lifestyle factors such as being overweight or obese,leading a sedentary lifestyte and an unhealthy diet.It occurs when the body gradually loses the ability to process blood sugar,leading to high levels which can damage body organs and result in years of ill-health. According to the Uk-based Daily mail,"soft drinks have previously been linked with weight gain and obesity-a wellknown trigger for type 2 diabetes-but researchers say the effect goes beyond body weight and may be caused by an increase in insulin resistance." in addition,other research has shown that sugary drinks can damage the liver and kidneys and are linked to the risk of developing cancer or dementia.
