Everyone should really stop complaining about this common core math nonsense. Yes its different and confusing because its not something were used to. Maybe its scary to you because you dont know it, but sometimes things need to change in order to improve. And guess what! Theyre actually trying to teach kids to understand things and why they work. Not just be able to pass standardized tests, but to think critically and logically which is a skill that definitely should be worked on more. Think about it, how much information did you retain from going to public schools? Probably not as much as you should have. We should all be proud that people are trying something new and different to make a better, smarter world. As someone who admires to be a school teacher one day, I see this as a huge step in education and am excited to see the results.
