Everyone that knows me knows I rarely post about politics on FB, because 1) its my day job and 2) Game of Thrones is infinitely more fun. That being said, I am posting a link to this article in the NYTimes because, at the bottom, they have issued a correction about the original articles use of McConnells bizarre obsession quote and clarifying that he was not referring to the equal pay issue when he said it. I have seen *so many* gifs in peoples streams over the last 24 hours repeating this quote in the context of payment equity without the correction that I cant take it any more. I think its perfectly possible to have a rational discussion about gender issues, and Im happy to geek out with folks about the methodologies behind the 77 cent assertion. But, as Daniel Patrick Moynihan once said, youre entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts. McConnell did not refer to this particular issue as a bizarre obsession.
