Everyone wants to be an IT Guru Over my years in the working environment either as a user or Support, I have noticed no matter what the designation of a user they want to be their own IT support. Having a computer at home and fixing it is different to being in IT sector I have a bank account, I pay a House, car, household expenses, I create my own balance sheet of my income and expenses but I don’t interfere in our Financial department or tell the Creditors lady to hold on to a payment so we can receive interest before paying And I bargain at the flea market and if I need to sell something I use Gumtree, but I don’t go to our Marketing Department and tell them which LSM (living standard method) of market to target. So then why do users: always try to fix their own laptop, which is like adding fuel to the fire. I must admit there are some users that can troubleshoot them self but the balance wants to be an IT specialist, all I can say then change your career.
