Everything is done but the packing and the drive back to Kansas. - TopicsExpress

Everything is done but the packing and the drive back to Kansas. We had our visit with the doctor yesterday and got the all clear for dismissal. Like Kim said in her post we will have to return in a few weeks for more testing because I have a greater chance of the cancer returning due to being high risk. Looking back at what we have been through we feel very fortunate about how I have made it through the treatments with relatively minor complications. We totally give credit where credit is due and we give all the credit to God. We took a huge leap of Faith making the trip down here to Little Rock. Our Oncologist told us that the LR treatment would be like bootcamp. I understand now what he meant and like bootcamp I am glad it is over!!!! Praise God that all that misery ended up with me in remission! I have to lift up the Ft. Hays State University Defensive Tactics Team. They are a group of students led by my friend Kenton Russell. They did something very sneaky this past weekend and had a fundraiser for my family. I didnt find out until Friday while browsing through Facebook. I scrolled to a picture that had the word Goodness which caught my eye. Then I noticed the picture of a hand doing the shaka which was very coincidental. I looked at it closer and saw that they had set up a chili competition in Hays Kansas and it was scheduled for the next day. They had been planning this since last Fall with a little help from my daughter Taylor. I had no clue. The local christian radio station even showed up to help and promote it. Pretty cool!!! You guys Rock!!!! Thank you for your continued support of us and not forgetting. We owe all of you so much!!! Yesterday we said our Thanks and Goodbyes to the staff that got us through this last 10 months. Although we will be back in LR often for testing if the cancer stays in remission we wont have appointments to see the techs or infusion staff. Of course we will still stop by to see them everytime we are in town. Today we had lunch with Kim and Pam with Home away from Home. They are the ones we have rented the apartment from during our stay here. We celebrated my remission and our last day here. We had a very nice time of fellowship and sharing. So many times during the last several months I have heard many people say Its a small world. I have decided that the word small could be replaced with God and it made more sense. Looks like I will have to get a date for the BBQ on my next post. Stay tuned!! Mark 10:52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way. Blessings and Shaka!!!! \ooo/
