Evolution occurs not because the new evolutionary practices stem from a set of better ideas, but because the old practices threaten the survival of the species. Land animals did not show up on land until the water around them dried up! The existing socio-economic and political structures, as deficient as they are for the masses, have been functioning for the last several centuries. But they’re on the verge of collapse because they no longer meet the needs of human populations and threaten their natural habitat. The critical threshold for this collapse is yet to be reached, however. There’re solutions out there, however, that’d serve as guiding posts or stepping stones towards an intelligent and compassionate life for all the earth inhabitants. One of them is the Venus project founded by Jacque Fresco, now in his 90’s! He’s been advocating his resource based economy for over 40 years now.
