❣{{{♥❍♥}}}❣ Evolving into a new and very different culture Over the course of the past five decades, we have evolved into a new and very different social culture, one that includes a new language to describe types of relationships and a social network that allows us to establish contact with people via our computers. The long familiar archetype of marriage, for instance, is no longer a sufficient container for the vastly different emotional needs of individuals seeking partnerships while simultaneously desiring to maintain a sense of personal freedom. Our needs as individuals have broken through traditional barriers and given rise to numerous relationship options that have become the "social archetypes" of our time. We are now free to have friends with benefits or to be "in commitment" or to be in a "committed" relationship noting that the subtle difference in wording does indeed imply a difference in the depth of personal involvement. We can hook up in groups or we can meet through the Internet, applying for the "type" of person we want via a computerized form. Using that method allows a person to instantly state the type of "archetype" they are seeking to partner with: Athlete, Entrepreneur, Health Devotee, etc. We no longer have the patience for courtship or long romances. Instead, we are becoming "specialized" in the types of relationships we want as well as the specific qualities we want in the person. We are, in other words, seeking out specific "archetype partnerships". We need to understand why we are undergoing this "relationship transition" into an archetypal consciousness, how that is personally influencing us, and how these changes are reshaping our view of the world we live in. This workshop presents a look into the archetype of Relationships - how we want them to be as an ideal - and then examines who we have become as a result of living in a rapidly changing society with its values in chaos.
