Ex 15:23-25 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah. And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink? And he cried unto The Lord, and The Lord shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them. ~ this was 3 days after God miraculously delivered them from the Egyptians by drowning them in the Red Sea. They had just celebrated Gods great deliverance and now 3 days later they were murmuring and complaining because they didnt have water to drink. Its amazing how we will see Gods faithfulness time and time again but then find ourselves in a situation where we are in need and we begin to murmur and question Gods faithfulness to provide. Before the children of Israel reached Marah, God had already made provision for them. He had already provided the remedy for the bitter waters though the Israelites didnt see it yet. He used this place as a proving ground to see what was in their heart. Like a good faithful Father, God already knew what they would need before they came to Marah and already made provision for that season of their life. (If we dont have the revelation that God IS a loving, faithful Father, we will never have confidence in him.) How we handle different situations and circumstances tell a lot about us. Are we people of faith or people filled with fear? Do we trust God in our circumstance, our season or are we self reliant, fearful, and stressed? I wonder how long the provision of God would have been kept hidden from the people if they would have been people of faith and had given thanks immediately for Gods provision ~before they ever saw it manifested. Remember that no matter where you find yourself in life, God was there first. He has already made provision for you where you are, before you even got there - whether you see it manifested now or not. So be people of faith. Praise God and thank God for his faithfulness to provide before it is seen and he will reveal unto you the provision hes already made!
