Exactly one year ago today I was lucky enough to summit Ama Dablam, one of the most beautiful mountains in the Himalayas, and by far my most challenging mountain ever. I was lucky - because I got the opportunity and also that mountain and weather conditions were very favourable. Better mountaineers than me have not summited due to poorer conditions etc. My other essential requirements were lots of training and preparation before the trip, a really good team spirit and superb leadership of our expedition team - and plenty of determination.
