Excalibur was developed as a longer-ranged alternative to conventional artillery shells, with GPS guidance for improved accuracy. I loved working on a gun crew as its a team work event with all voicing the commands as they are shouted by the gunner. This is a bad ass round, costs are really 54K not 80 but who knows shipping them out into the wild would raise the costs for sure. Capable of reaching out 25 to 35 miles the gun crew can be safely in the rear during engagements. co-developed by United States Texas Instruments (now part of Raytheon) and Swedish BAE Systems Bofors (body, base, ballistics and payload). Initial combat experience with Excalibur in Iraq in the summer of 2007 was highly successful, with 92% of rounds falling within 13 ft of the target. Money well spent to save lives
