ExcelThought of the day... Our attitude at the start of an assignment will affect its result. Coaches understand the importance of their teams having the right attitude BEFORE facing a challenging opponent. Surgeons want to see their patients mentally prepared BEFORE going into surgery. Job-seekers know that their prospective employer is looking for more than just skills when they apply for work. Public speakers want a conducive atmosphere BEFORE they communicate to their audience. Why? Because the right attitude at the start of an assignment will insure success at the end. For a lot of people many projects fail or succeed before they begin. For example, there is a story of 2 shoe salesmen who were sent to an island to sell shoes. The 1st salesman, upon arrival, was shocked to realize that no one wore shoes. Immediately he sent a telegram to his home office in Chicago saying, Will return home tomorrow. No one wears shoes. The 2nd salesman was thrilled by the same realization. Immediately he called the home office in Chicago saying, Please send me 10,000 shoes. Everyone here needs them. Hows the attitude today? How are you evaluating things you have to do or start today?
