Excellent Islamic Restaurant in Chiang Mai Eight of us met for dinner tonight, and we picked the Banphihuennong restaurant. It is a nice place worth visiting if for nothing else to see the place. They had 13 live entertainment shows. The food was traditional Thai style -- no pork of course because a Muslim family owns it -- and was outstanding. Fast service, very friendly. Eight people cost a total of 2,100 baht, or about $66US, and unfortunately there was so much food we could not eat it all. The open air atmosphere was cozy, and since guests eat with no shoes on, it was even more comfortable. Go there. You will like it.
