Except Kinnaur, other tourists destination open to tourists: CS June 20, 2013 Chief Secretary, Shri S. Roy has made an appeal to the tourists to visit Himachal without any fear as apart from tribal district of Kinnaur and few parts of Spiti, other important tourists destination of the State were open for tourism. He however advised the tourists not to visit Kinnaur and few areas of Spiti as the access was not possible due to landslips and blockades of roads whereas they were welcome to other areas. Otherwise also, Kinnaur was more than 200 kilometers far from Shimla, the State capital, he added. Meanwhile, Director Tourism, Shri. Subhashish Panda in a communiqué said that the tourism was not facing any problem in other areas of the State. He said that tourists were visiting in numbers to Kullu and Manali and the corporation had earned Rs six lakh on Wednesday and Rs 5.50 lakh on Thursday on account of bookings of Hotels and Corporation Buses. Besides, the tourism had to hire buses to accommodate the tourists. He said that the tourists were visiting in large numbers to Chamba and Kangra districts also. However, the tourism department would be glad to provide guidance and any type of assistance to the visitors, he said. The department on the request of the tourists was changing their itinerary, who earlier had bookings of various tourist destinations of Kinnaur to the places as desired by them. He said that for further advice or guidance the tourists could send their queries on [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected], as well as on 0177-2652561 and 0177-2658302. There was no problem with rest of the State and normal conditions were prevailing for the visit.
