Excerpt from Marionette: (here sums up the premise of the book nicely. If you want to know what its about) The bright white ball of light with a long tail moved steadily towards the blue planet. If one looked closely enough, as Beau Winston was, one could notice rainbow colors in the tail. This, our junior astronomer found a bit odd, and interesting. He put his telescope on the most powerful setting and gazed at the anomaly. Over the last few weeks, that comet grew larger and larger to the eye as it approached. No one, not even Beau, could see the translucent rainbow colored serpent riding it. No one knew just what that comet was made of; that peculiar chemical compound, often coveted by the mystic sorcerers of our world, the device used to control mankind, even to making the dead a willing slave. Control, such as that which John Dixon exercised over his deceased father, who was dead, but now, in all appearances, was alive. There was an intelligence, a vast, ancient, alien intelligence unlike any that our world had ever known, riding that comet. Its mind was ancient and evil. It was perversely evil. It wielded power beyond human comprehension; the power to enslave and control. The power to manipulate the crowning jewel of this blue planet orbiting its yellow sun was all his. It was power craved by those such as a certain Cassandra Hope, who had spent her life feeling powerless, and desiring power to overthrow all who would control her, all who would seek to rob her of the feminine consciousness she had already lost, and still sought to reclaim. All such power man is tempted by was contained in that ball of white light, and that mesmerizing serpent. That serpent went by many names. The primitive tribes who saw it as their god, called it Nzambi. Others have called it Lucifer, the dragon, the deceiver, the devil, and the list goes on. It was, regardless of what you named it, the ancient evil that sought to prey on mankind. It feeds. It steals. It destroys. It devours. In this case, it also sought to multiply and possess, turning the inhabitants of its planet into its own offspring. The sons and daughters of Nzambi would be called Zombi.
