Excerpt from "Seeds of The Little People" As my great grandfather had described Emma’s first reaction to this magnificent wonder of nature … the reactions of Silver and me were even more dramatic. Even as a scientist, this was too much for me to take this quick. My wife and I were looking all around and at each other with utter amazement asking, “How is this possible”. Silver asked, “Where are we …this can’t be Wood Song … this does not exist on Wood Song.” Yet we knew we must be some place within Wood Song. After about thirty minutes, we calmed down to the point where we could explore the Garden. As the essays had said … “the beauty, color, and translucent purity coming from the glow of a soft light from within the Garden were indescribable. All of our senses of vision, hearing, touching and smelling were engaged to their full capacity. The atmosphere that the Garden created seemed to bring us all into an awareness of a higher realm of reality. All of us remarked that we could actually taste the atmosphere and aroma coming from the Garden. It was a most delightful and pleasant feeling. We had never experienced the sense of taste in this manner before.” Several areas of the Garden gave beautiful picturesque views of the beach and ocean. In their excited exploration of this “new world”, Samuel and Marie had wandered off. They were now calling for Silver and me to come and see what they had found. It was the Arbor that my great granddaddy had described as “the Arbor in the midst of the Garden”. It was a very large Arbor covered with the most gorgeous array of flowers we had ever seen. We were actually witnessing exactly what was quoted in the essays … “Emma noticed a soft subdued light slowly flowing out from the ground level of the Arbor and reaching throughout the Garden. Its flow resembled the gentle movement of luminous water transformed into light. She could see that this was the source of the illumination of the entire Garden.” We stood in front of this magnificent Arbor in complete silence for several minutes. Even though the sounds of nature were filling the air with the songs of birds, the movement of a gentle breeze through the trees along with the very soothing sounds of the ocean’s waves washing ashore … in the midst of all of this was a “Silence That Thundered”. We clearly sensed that something very unusual was about to take place. barnesandnoble/w/seeds-of-the-little-people-josh-david-hamilton-iii/1114669182?ean=9781484002308
