Excerpt from the book God Is One And Christ Is All. Chapter 42 The Politics of Constantine and the Emperors Summary. Emperor Constantine (ad 272–337) was the legal heir to the throne of Satan, according to Jesus’ testimony in Revelation 2:12–13. Constantine insisted that the Church Council of Nicaea in ad 325 adopt the Egyptian homoousios (same-substance) doctrine. That doctrine was also strongly Gnostic and defined one God as being projected out of another. Constantine was, of course, demonstrably “Christian” in name only; that is, he was a false Christian. He refused to be baptized until shortly before his death. He had even arranged to have himself enrolled among the pagan deities after his death. The Council of Nicaea was his political attempt to restore unity to his empire. The purpose of the council was to settle disputes between two branches of Trinitarian clergy. The very fact that the assembly allowed Constantine to sit in judgment at their councils demonstrates they had resorted to an “utter fault,” biblically speaking. Athanasian Trinitarianism had a rival in a doctrine called Arianism. The battle between the two factions continued to rage for sixty-one years. Another politically motivated council convened in Constantinople in ad 381. At that point, the Athanasian party gained the upper hand, and it has remained predominant up to the present.
