Exciting news from Diana Ross in City Heights: Last night the San Diego City Council approved the annual budget and with it, approved a $200,000 contribution to a no-cost youth bus pass. Together with the added support and contributions from the San Diego Unified School District and Metropolitan Transportation Board, a no-cost youth bus pass is becoming a reality! This makes us first in San Diego, second in California, and fourth in the nation to have such a program. There is no doubt that this is a huge accomplishment, but the best part is that now families in City Heights and its neighboring communities will have increased youth safety, school attendance and better access to jobs and opportunity! Thank you for all your support of Mid-City CAN and the youth bus pass campaign.
