Exercise Selection As the old saying goes, Youve got to walk before you can run. One of the most common things you see in a gym is people doing poorly executed squats with shitty depth and bad technique. This can be for a number of reasons such as poor mobility, muscle imbalances and sometimes because theyve never been taught the movement correctly. The Split Squat, as featured in this video, is a fantastic exercise for building strong, balanced legs. It is one of the best exercises you can do to strengthened the quads and glutes whilst increasing your range of movement. If you are an athlete, cyclist or runner then this exercise is essential. They are ideally programmed at the beginning of a 12 week programme and slowly phased out as the the movement improves and the client can then be progressed on to full back squats. Technique is critical though and it is important that the knee travels over the toe and the hamstring covers the calf at the bottom of the exercise. Perform this exercise regularly and youll not only be amazed at your leg development and fat loss around your legs, but also your speed and strength whilst running and playing sport. Remember throughout January I will be offering a free health PDF for anyone who shares this page and inboxes me with their goals and email address. The person who follows the steps and achieves the best results over 4 weeks will receive health and fitness related prize. Happy Lifting
