Exercising Tips: DOs and DON’Ts DOs: - Set realistic and clear goals you want to achieve from your exercising plan (make sure it is a routine that you will follow through full-heartedly!) - Choose exercising activities that you enjoy doing such as walking, dancing, gardening, cycling, rock-climbing, hiking, and many more – even doing household chores is considered exercise. Do something you like to do and that will increase your chances of making it a habit! - Sustained your cardio activity like walking or running for at least 20-30 minutes to be effective. DON’Ts: - Don’t be too ambitious and go all-out setting strenuous workouts that may be too hard for you to handle at the start of your exercise plan. Begin with a small number (e.g. 20 sit-ups a day) and slowly increase the number when you are ready to do more. Do push yourself but remember that slow and steady wins the game! - Don’t stick to only one standard. Vary the time and intensity of your routine. - Don’t slouch. Keep an eye on your posture when you exercise as slouching keeps you from breathing deeply, which is necessary for delivering the oxygen to your muscles to work at full capacity.
