Exodus 3:21-22 (NIV) - And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed . (22) Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing , which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians . There were three primary things on the minds of the Israelites when they left Egypt. (1) They had the knowledge that God desired them to worship Him as Lord. (2) They had a promise that the time had come to inhabit the promise land. (3) God having prospered them they no longer were a poor people, as they left with wealth. The Israelites had the wealth required to establish the nation and they had a vision for the future possession of the promise land.
