Expert Advice Read Luke 3:1 through 4:44 They were amazed at His teaching, because His words had authority (Luke 4:32). Jesus spoke with an authority the people did not hear from the so-called experts in the Law, who expounded more on human regulations than on God’s Word. There is a difference between those who teach what they know and those who know what they teach. We live in a world where people are constantly looking for expert advice on just about everything—how to live a healthy lifestyle, have a great marriage, build a successful business, or raise happy children. There are many books that give useful information to help us reach our goals. But, as believers, one book should take precedence over all others. The authoritative Word of God is the ultimate guidebook for life. The Bible teaches Christians everything they need to know about living a healthy, purpose-filled life. Other books may be helpful and encouraging, but the Word of God is powerful. It gives infallible advice and life-changing counsel.
