Explain this to me: This morning, I was driving home with my siblings, and at an intersection, we saw a car crashed into a tree. We couldnt see anyone that was helping them (instead, people were driving right past like nothing happened), so we decided to help. From the corner of my eye, I noticed a cop sitting in a parking lot nearby (prob like 500 feet from the accident), so I drove over to the cop. As soon as I did that, the cop moved out of the parking lot and parked on the main road, now even closer to the accident, and definitely in the direct line of sight of the accident. I was completely confused because the cop was doing nothing about the accident -- he just parked his car and turned his lights off. So I gave up on the cop, and drove over to the accident scene, where my sister then got out of my car and asked the lady who crashed if she needed help. My sister came back and said that the lady was barely speaking correctly (either bc she was super drunk, in shock, foreign, or some crazy combination), but she was able to make out that she wanted a phone to call the cops. My sister told her about the cop right down the street and said she would run over to get him. As soon as my sister crossed the street to get the cop, the cop finally turned his lights on, and -- driving extremely slowly -- he made his way to the accident, lazily plopped out of his cop car and walked over mad slow to help them. Am I missing something?
