“Explosions!”came the exclamation from Au’s father, ‘and they came from the direction of Earth.’ It seems he was right. Au guessed the former was from the prisoners’ cubicle pod. The latter explosion came from the direction of Embassy! Edward ran toward the control panel, to the right of the observation window. He pressed the zoom function, and the first flame was brought closer, but the flamed died as it was focused upon, and then there was nothing! Au observed the co-ordinates on screen, noting that they were identical to Embassy’s last known position. Embassy had exploded! All those people ceased to exist! Edward dragged the viewer into position, over the estimated co-ordinates of the pod, and zoomed in to the maximum. There was no trace of the Hobble’s pod! Edward then focused the viewer on the fixed position of Earth, only to find that the planet was intact. The side panels, walls, floor and roof lit up throughout the ship. All warning lights were flashing red. This was a sign of danger, and served as an instruction to all. This situation called for everyone to return to their own quarters. Bridge staff would have to man their stations, and prepare the ship for attack. Soldiers and androids would strap themselves in, at specially provided links in the passages. Surprisingly this was accomplished in moments, despite the size of the ships interior. This was no drill, and somehow everybody knew it! lulu/shop/bernard-harold-curgenven/fleet-the-complete-novel/ebook/product-21767168.html https://itunes.apple/us/book/fleet/id911436513?mt=11 barnesandnoble/w/fleet-the-complete-novel-bernard-harold-curgenven/1120320527?ean=9781312447424 This sci-fi novel has several 5 star ratings.
