Exposition of the Epistle of 1 John 1 John 1:1-4 The Word of eternal life is the Son of God, Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is the eternal Word of life: The Apostle John wrote: 1John 1:1 (1) That which was from the beginning (This term, “beginning,” which usually references an origin in time and space could be being used here to indicate the eternality of God that had no beginning, for He and the Savior LORD Jesus Christ are eternal, without beginning and end. Also, it could be referencing the Apostle John’s origin of relationship with the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, while He walked the earth. Whichever is contextually that is true from John’s perspective, is not as important, as accepting both are true, by faith. The Savior LORD Jesus Christ is both the eternal “Word of life,” in which the text will indicate and the one who walked an earthly life manifesting He was eternal life and imparts eternal life to all who will believe, also which will be indicated by the text.), which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, (The early disciples, who walk with the Savior LORD Jesus Christ were able to witness the physical aspect of the incarnated Son of God through the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, for He is Emmanuel, God with us [Matthew 1:23]; However, we are blessed because we perceive Him, by faith, through the Scriptures and the Spirit [John 5:39; 15:26; 20:27-31].) of the Word of life (“Word of life” is the divine title of the Savior LORD Jesus Christ. It is also used by John in the Gospel of John 1:1; 14 (1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… (14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.) Do you spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally know, by faith, the eternal Word of life, the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was God incarnated, God with us? Jesus Christ is eternal life: 1John 1:2 (2) (For the (eternal) life was manifested (The One who is and imparts eternal life was spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally declared in the flesh through the incarnated Son of God, the Savior LORD Jesus Christ.), and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) (Like the Apostle John, we who believe upon the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, receiving Him, as eternal life and the imparter of the gift of eternal life, need to seek though the Spirit to proclaim that the Savior LORD Jesus Christ died for the sins of the world. Whereby, all who will repent towards God of the practice of sin and self-righteousness and, by faith, receive the Savior LORD Jesus Christ into their life; will receive eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, newness of life, and all other eternal graces of God.) The Savior LORD Jesus Christ is eternal life personified, who was with the Father and came to us from the Father to be the eternal earthly Savior of the world, as the Word of life… The Savior LORD Jesus Christ imparts eternal life to all that believe upon Him, as their Savior, God, and LORD, according to the absolute authority of the Scriptures, the written Word of life, the Bible… The Savior LORD Jesus Christ taught that eternal life begins the moment one enters, by faith, into a spiritual, scriptural, supernatural relationship with sovereign God through the Savior LORD Jesus Christ: And this is life eternal, that they might know (This is to know, by faith, with certainty through relationship.) thee the only true (sovereign) God (the Father), and Jesus Christ (This is our Savior, God, and LORD, according to the absolute authority of the Scriptures.), whom thou hast sent. [John 17:3] We must clearly understand to experience the full spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural impact of eternal life that such is not just a future eternal reality, at death, but is an earthly eternal reality of a spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural relationship with sovereign God the Father and the Son, our Savior LORD Jesus Christ. Such is experience, by faith, through Him, who is and imparts eternal life to all, who will receive Him, as their Savior, God, and LORD, the One, Who sacrificially died and shed His blood as the sacrifice for our sins and arose from the grave, to give us eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, newness of life, and all other eternal graces of God.) Do you spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally know, by faith, by a present earthly relationship, the eternal Word of life, the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who was God incarnated, God with us? The One, Who sacrificially died and shed His blood, as the sacrifice for your sins and arose from the grave, to give you eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, newness of life, and all other eternal graces of God. Jesus Christ, our Savior, God, and LORD, is the spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural focal point to experience fellowship with the sovereign God the Father and other believers, as well as our Savior LORD Jesus Christ: 1John 1:3-4 (3) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you (that which they knew about the Savior LORD Jesus Christ), that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. (4) And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. (This is spiritual, scriptural, and supernatural joy, regardless of the situation or circumstance, because of being in fellowship with sovereign God the Father and the Son, the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, Who offers and is the object of the joy of our salvation.) Fellowship is to share in common the person, presences, power, pardon, purpose, peace, and perfect will of sovereign God the Father and the Savior LORD Jesus Christ… Fellowship spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally is based upon a focus, by faith, upon sovereign God the Father, through the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, according to the absolute authority of the Scriptures, by the guidance of the Spirit… Fellowship is limited if possible at all with those who hold major scriptural doctrinal differences and significant differences of practice, for they are not sharing in common, but are in contradiction of each other and God is not the author of such confusion… Let me ask again… Do you spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally know, by faith, the eternal Word of life, the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was God incarnated, God with us? Do you spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally know, by faith, by a present earthly relationship, the eternal Word of life, the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who was God incarnated, God with us? The One, Who sacrificially died and shed His blood, as the sacrifice for your sins and arose from the grave, to give you eternal life, the forgiveness of sins, newness of life, and all other eternal graces of God. Do you spiritually, scripturally, and supernaturally know (experience with certainty), by faith, a present earthly relationship and fellowship, with sovereign God the Father through the eternal Word of life, the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Who was God incarnated, God with us? The one who offers eternal life and spiritual, scriptural and supernatural fellowship that with you that your joy might be full with sovereign God the Father and the Son the Savior LORD Jesus Christ, and other believers, through the Scriptures and the Spirit. Let us pray… Evangelist Bruce Haller, (478) 348-3421, EvangelistHaller@Gmail , h-o-p-e-ministry.org/
