Extreme Weather in Australia on Tuesday Description Several people have been injured in North Coogee in what is initially being reported as a tornado. The Weather Bureau told 6PR that there was no evidence of a tornado and a water spout may have formed offshore and travelled inland. The incident was reported on Orsino Boulevard at 2.14pm. The RAC rescue chopper has taken one person to hospital with serious injuries. Police and firefighters are at the scene. One person is also understood to have suffered a broken shoulder. Channel 7 reporter Amelia Broun told 6PR there are several ambulances at the construction site and that scaffolding is strewn everywhere. It appears formwork may have collapsed. Up to six people are understood to have been injured. Four are thought to have minor injuries but two other people are thought to have neck and spinal injuries.
