“Extremist Muslim” is an ideology which is based on a distorted interpretation of Islam, which betrays Islam’s peaceful principles. Tony Blair while Prime Minister himself began to describe “They demand the elimination of Israel; the withdrawal of all Westerners from Muslim countries, irrespective of the wishes of people and government; the establishment of effectively Taleban states and Sharia law in the Arab world en route to one CALIPHATE of all Muslim nations.” Furthermore other terms such as “Traditionalists” was coupled with “Modernists” in order to counter the “Fundamentalists”. Their description of a traditionalist was essentially an apolitical practising Muslim, a modernist was a Muslim who sought to reform (change) Islam according to western values and a fundamentalist was someone who believed in the implementation of Shariah law in society.
