“Eyes on Art” opens to big crowd The “Eyes on Art” show opening at the Evesham Township Municipal Building on May 13 was another huge success. Mayor Randy Brown, Deputy Mayor Ken D’Andrea, Councilman Bob DiEnna, Councilwoman Deb Hackman and Councilman Steve Zeuli attended the annual event. “The building looks beautiful,” Brown said of the now-multi-color-filled municipal building and courtroom. “The students in our town are talented. We’re proud to showcase their exceptional work at a high-traffic location.” Selected students from the Evesham Township School District had their work displayed throughout the first floor, conference rooms and the courtroom. The courtroom, which looked less like a room of justice and more like an art museum, was filled with color, sculptures and paintings. “Each year I am truly impressed with the wonderful art work our students create. The art show is a great event to showcase the talent of the students,” John Scavelli said, Superintendent of Schools. “Our teachers, supervisors, and support staff do a tremendous job coordinating the event. I certainly enjoyed presenting the framed artwork back to our students that participated in the event last year. This is another example of our district’s commitment to the arts.” Parents took photos and congratulated their children on their success. “I love when we do this every year. It gives me and council another chance to meet our town’s bright future,” Brown said. School district officials were pleased with the show’s outcome, as well. “This year’s district art show gala opening was another great success,” Danielle Magulick said, Director of Curriculum and Instruction. “It’s always wonderful to showcase our talented students and comprehensive art program.” DeMasi Middle School’s orchestra played a set for parents and guests, making the night extra-special. “The students did a phenomenal job this year, their teachers and parents should be proud of their talents,” Brown said. “I look forward to a week of color and creativity in the municipal building.” The “Eyes on Art” show will run from May 13-22 at the municipal building, 984 Tuckerton Road. Exhibit hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
