Eyewitness report by Sergey Kosyak from Donetsk: (Translated by Euan MacDonald) ---------- The nightmare has started now in Donetsk as well. The fighting has come to a city of one million people. There is heavy artillery fire near the railway station, and already a lot of casualties, railway workers are hiding with passengers in underground passages, the Admin Town district is destroyed, people are being hastily evacuated to the Donetsk free hostel. Telephone lines are overloaded, I do not have time to respond to everyone – all the cars of volunteers are busy, buses are commandeered, some drivers refuse to go. So we cannot bring 40 people from Dzerzhinsk district, and are now organizing the evacuation of 300 people who urgently had to move from the destroyed Admin Town. Tomorrow, all our cars are already booked, we take people to various destinations - just taking out another group of 20 children to Berdyansk, 20 to Svjatogorsk, and it seems this is just the beginning. Friends - everyone who remains in the city, especially those who consider themselves Christians, [we] need volunteer drivers to provide personal transport, petrol etc. Two of our drivers came under fire in the area of Spartacus, they were unable get to the people they were planning to pick up. You cant go on country roads, you cannot – rows of mines have been planted. I ask everyone to pray hard for a properly organized and safe evacuation.
