Ezra 9:8-10King James Version (KJV) 8 And now for a little space grace hath been shewed from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a nail in his holy place, that our God may lighten our eyes, and give us a little reviving in our bondage. 9 For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem. 10 And now, O our God, what shall we say after this? for we have forsaken thy commandments, Interpretation of tongues: 8 And now, in a short time of grace given by the Lord our God, who has granted a remnant to escape and is protecting us in His presence. He is doing this to show us how to be revived from our captivity. 9 For we were slaves, yet our God did not let our bondage kill us. He withdrew His wrath toward us and made our captors show us some mercy. He has given this revival to rebuild the Church of our God. To repair the desolation that is in the Church. And to reassure His protection that encompasses His chosen people. 10 Even now, O Lord, what can we say? After all of this, we still carry the fruit of disobeying Your Commandments.
