FACTS ABOUT VALLUVARS: Valluvars belong to the Hindu community mostly living in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. They are the hereditary priests preaching and practicing Astrology, Astronomy and Medicine. Valluvars are believed to have been the priests of the Pallava kings before the introduction of Brahmins and for sometime after their arrival. The Valluvar Community are in the field of Naadi Astrology since many generations. The main office holding Naadi leaves is at Vait...heswaran Koil, Nagappattinam District in Tamil Nadu. They are devoted followers of Lord Shiva and believe that the knowledge of practising Naadi astrology had come from His boon. Some say they maintain deep rooted secrecy about information regarding Lord Shiva and the master Naadi leaf. It is presumed that the tribe has got its name from Thiruvalluvar, a highly celebrated Tamil poet and philosopher whose contribution to Tamil literature is the Thirukkural, a work on ethics.
