FAITH HAS NO ‘ME’ IN IT. Genesis 22 When you’ve moved from believing in God to believing Him, you will come to realise that you no longer depend on yourself. When you only believed in Him, you only believed that He is there. This means you did things your way, whenever and however you wanted. Now when you’ve come to believe Him, you start to depend on Him. You do things His way, when He wants them to be done and how He wants them to be done. This doesn’t mean God is a tyrant and wants to bully you, but remember He says ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts’ (Isaiah 55:8-9)[KJV]. We can trust His thoughts and His ways because He says again in Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope’ [ESV]. You give up YOUR will and SURRENDER to HIS. You yield yourself to Him and say ‘Father, Let YOUR Will Be Done In My Life’. When you’ve done this, peace beyond understanding flows in your life. And yes, you will have challenges still but you know that ALL things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). Abraham was willing to give his ONLY son because he let his will die and let God’s will reign in his life. He had FAITH, he BELIEVED God. Because of this God made Him His friend.
