FAITH THAT CAN WORK FOR YOU NO MATTER YOUR SITUATION! Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda: Pretoria, South Africa. If there is a subject that has been preached by almost every preacher, it is the subject of faith. However there is an area of this subject that does not feature in most faith sermons which by God’s grace I wish to handle with you. It is my prayer that God will speak to your heart and mine and allow his word to do a great work in Jesus Name. MAN’S EXPECTED FAITH MEASURED WITH GOD’S AWESOME ABILITY Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible Mar 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. God has absolute ability and it is with this kind of understanding that a true child of God is viewed and expected to operate from. The problem is that we are all rushing to manifest a kind of faith that will give blessings. We are looking for a God who can give us everything we need forgetting that this is not the greatest work of faith in the believer’s life. Once you operate within this framework of faith, the Christian life is enjoyable. May the Lord lead you and me to this most cherished life in Jesus? I will discuss the message by using the word “REST” Mar 14:41 And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take your rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Your suffering and restlessness is too much. The Lord wants you to rest. You ought to realize that without faith rest may not be permanent. Let us consider how faith fits into this word “REST” R-RELEASING Faith that finds it difficult to release what is in the hand will not profit anyone. God had one Son and he released him to come down here on earth. Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1Jo 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Faith and love work hand in hand. You will not prove that you have faith whilst your love is dormant. It was the love God had that made to release his son. He believed that the investment of His son on the sinful earth was not going to be a waste. God believed that there will be people who will believe in his Son and this has been the case. Jhn 12:42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue. Act 4:4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand Act 4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. Faith in soul winning demands your life and your all. JESUS RELEASED HIS ONLY ONE LIFE TO BE CRUCIFIED ON THE CROSS! Mat 20:28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Can you imagine that Christ almost made it impossible to die and had to pray three times. Thank God he overcame and went on to face the cross. One would have thought he was taking a risk but Christ had faith that his life was going to be a seed that will germinate. THE WIDOW RELEASED THE ONLY BREAD TO ELIJAH AND IT RESULTED INTO A THREE AND HALF YEARS MIRACLE OF PROVISION 1Kings 17:13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son. Fear would have made this release impossible but she believed the words of Elijah. This is the highest kind of faith- the faith that can release without any hope. Do you have this kind of faith? Look at how stingy you are my friend! I wish to inform you that no stingy person has faith and I am sure this may shock you! You get paid and eat all your money alone with your family. Have you ever considered saints who are suffering or servants of God who daily labour for the good welfare of your souls. You are even the one always condemning servants of God. You want them to starve to death? This is why you have problems and no one to help. Elijah needs that morsel of bread in exchange for a three and half years provision. May the Lord help you in Jesus name. E-EMPTYING THE CONTENTS IN YOU THAT CAN BE A HINDRANCE IN YOUR SERVICE TO THE LORD! Matthew 4:19-20 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. These disciples were not empty but full of fishing in their heads. They dreamt the sea, nets and fish. Christ wanted them to empty this so that it will be the work of soul winning that was going to be uppermost. There are some of you reading this who should have been preaching the gospel but with one excuse and the other you have resisted the call. My friend you will waste precious years. God wants to empty your container so that he can fill it. This needs faith and the Lord is releasing that faith to you in Jesus name. S-SOWING THE SEED THAT WILL YIELD PRECIOUS FRUITS Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. This is a costly and laborious work. Some of you are too lazy to get involved in gospel work. See what are always giving in your church. It’s money that is useless that you give God. You think it does not matter what you give to God. Problems in your life have made it impossible for you to give the best to God and this is the very reason why you cannot receive the best. What you sow you will reap. If God gives you faith to sow faith to reap will be automatic. Watch what you sow. T-TEAMING UP WITH OTHERS Act 9:26-27 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple. 27. But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. The Jerusalem church lost a potential leader in the name of Paul because they did not have the faith that teams up with others. Acts 11:25-26 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul: 26. And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch. Thank God for Barnabas who believed in Paul and no wonder the Holy Spirit paired them up. Learn to accept people and work with them.
