FAMILY RESOURCES COORDINATOR Childrens Hospital Philadelphia - Philadelphia, PA Requirements: High school education or equivalent at minimum. Prefer a college degree in health-related field or human services. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Computer literacy and typing skills required. Able to communicate with patients, families, and professionals in a respectful, collaborative, and sensitive manner. High level of interest in good customer service and proven capability of problem solving and follow through. Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills with people in crisis. Ability to work with volunteers and to collaborate in a cross functional way with other professionals affiliated with The Connelly Resource Center for Families. Sensitivity to cultural diversity, differing needs, and varying styles of coping, with particular sophistication in working with families under tremendous stress. Ability to manage correspondence, documentation, and office related matters on computer and through e-mail. Familiarity with TDS. All CHOP employees who work in a patient building or who provide patient care are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption. Job Description: Front line receptionist in one of the designated family lounges (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, or The Connelly Resource Center for Families). Assure suitable upkeep and family support in other areas through cross-coverage. Provide verbal and written information to families about hospital and community services. maintain the clean, efficient, and safe functioning of the Parent Hospitality Center.
