FAQs of Movember How do you think you are going to raise $10 - TopicsExpress

FAQs of Movember How do you think you are going to raise $10 000 this year? - I have 345 friends on Facebook. That averages to $30/friend. So it is attainable. I also have a lot of help with advertising this year. Do you think all 345 of these people will donate? - No. Some of them are committed to other MoBros/MoSistas or arent as enthusiastic about Movember as I am. However, I have had increasing support as each year passes, and I am meeting more people every year so I have new people who may wish to help me out that didnt know me last year. Say I wanted to donate, where would I go? - mobro.co/ChrisLiddle You ask everyone else to help, but do you put any money towards the cause yourself? - Yes. Usually at least $100/year. I have already donated $100 this year. I sometimes donate to another MoBro as well, just to help them with their campaign too. What exactly does this money go towards? - Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer, and Mens Mental Health. Funds raised from previous years are opening up clinics across the country to decrease wait time for men being diagnosed with these illnesses which increases their likelihood of recovery. There is one in Edmonton that opened just recently. Mental health is being looked at more closely as well. More education, more awareness, more understanding, more help. Research teams are being funded to develop better treatments for cancer. Health experts are getting funding to make more men aware of how their lifestyle choices can improve their mental state. Additional info can be found on the Movember Website. What inspires you to participate in Movember? - Go to Google, read the symptoms of Prostate Cancer, Testicular Cancer, and then Mental Health Disorders/Depression. They sound horrible, some of them excruciatingly painful. Then theres mental health. You may not think of it at first, but suicide isnt always just a person having a bad life and having things not work out for them. Sometimes they have everything lined up for them, and from the outside it would appear as though they will have a wonderful life, and suddenly they just end it. No explanation. Thats the ugly side of mental health. I think of all these things, and I wish they never had to occur. I want to see my male friends and family enjoy their lives, and not go through this pain. So I fund raise the hell out of Movember. I try everything I can, to stir up support, because I really do believe in this cause. I cant donate to you, it just isnt going to work out. How else can I help? - If you *share* this status for more people to see, it will spread the awareness of what makes Movember important. - To support me this year, the link is mobro.co/ChrisLiddle. I really do appreciate all the support I get each year, thank you for helping me. -
