FARMER KILLED IN KATSINA Category: News Published on Friday, 01 November 2013 05:00 Written by Yusha’u A Ibrahim, Katsina Hits: 1852 One Ibrahim Lawal, 27, was killed in Tigirmis village of Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, following a clash between himself and Fulanis, Daily Trust gathered. Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Aminu Sadiq Abubakar, said preliminary investigation indicated that the Fulanis were on transit to Kano State from Jibia Local Government Area, when the incident occurred. He said the migrants had through the leaders of Miyatti-Allah Association obtained permission to pass through the village with their cows and other domestic animals. DSP Abubakar added that the deceased was said to have confronted the cattle rearers, protesting that they will not pass through his farm. “It was in that process that conflict ensued between late Lawal and the rearers,” he said. He said the Fulanis shot the deceased with a Dane gun and that he died in the hospital. Abubakar said no arrest has been made, but that investigation is on-going. He urged people of the village to remain calm and go about their normal businesses.
