FASCINATING parallels here for me ! Under the Western Walls in the Tunnels, this is the closest spot to where the Temple was, Jews come to pray here, they want to be as close as possible. As a Catholic I found this to be fascinating. We believe Jesus is the New Temple and the Catholic Church is the New Jerusalem. Jesus prophesied this in John 2:19 when He said Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days. This of course is His death and resurrection, He is the New Temple , So we too try to be as close to the Temple.....when? at Mass and Eucharistic Adoration !
