FATAL ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION PITLOCHRY TO KILLIECRANKIE ROAD (A924) An 80 year old female passenger has died after the blue Volkswagen Golf she was travelling south from Faskally in was involved in a collision with a northbound white Vauxhall Insignia on the Pitlochry to Killiecrankie Road (A924) near to Pitlochry shortly after 4pm on Tuesday 30 July 2013. Emergency services promptly attended at the scene of the collision, but tragically the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The 49 year old male driver of the Insignia, 77 year old female front seat passenger of the Insignia and a five year old rear seat passenger in the Insignia were all conveyed to Ninewells Hospital where they are described as stable. They will be kept in hospital overnight for observations and are all expected to be released tomorrow. The 69 year old female driver of the Golf is also a patient at Ninewells Hospital where her condition is described as serious, but not life threatening. The road was closed for several hours to allow for crash investigators to carry out a thorough examination of the scene before being reopened. Details of the victim will not be released until she has been formally identified and her next of kin have been fully informed. Police Scotland would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision to call them on 101, or speak to any officer.
