FAYEMI HAS DONE A LOT IN JOB CREATIONS FOR YOUTHS SAYS DIMEJI DANIELS The administration of Dr Kayode Fayemi has done a lot in the area of youth development in Ekiti State like: Ire Burnt Bricks Industry has been resuscitated and employed many youths are earning living there. In Ikogosi alone, over 350 people work there. The problem of unemployment is a Nigerian problem and must be situated properly. The recently conducted Nigeria Immigration Service interview where scores of youths died bear testimony to my position. We should thank Fayemi because he has ingeniously done a lot to stem the tide of unemployment in Ekiti through schemes such as EKSTMA, Peace Corps, Volunteer Corps. Over 500 teachers were recently employed. People are also presently being employed into the Civil Service. Auditors were recently employed by the State Ministry of Finance. It has been stated that out of those newly interviewed for employment at the Ire Burnt Bricks, 300 will be taken again. Many jobs have also been provided via YCAD (Youth in Commercial Agriculture Development). These are what the Fayemi administration has done. We must ask what the PDP-led FG has done. Truth be told, for the problem of unemployment to be properly solved, the Federal Government will have to put on its thinking cap for formulating policies that would rid the country of it. Playing to the gallery through politicised programmes such as YOUWIN or Sure-P is not the way to go. Though unemployment is everywhere in the world ( different statistics though), nations that have drastically reduced the scourge did not place emphasis on white collar jobs. They have gone the way of small scale industries. This is the way to go, but I doubt if the political bile and greed in the PDP can allow the FG do this successfully.
