FB FRIENDS--YOU ARE ALL PRECIOUS TO ME!!! I WILL NOT DELETE YOU inshallah!! I just attempted to delete a friend from my fb friends list so that I could add a personal friend (since I have reached the limit on this page). As I scrolled down the 5000 names I realized so many were familiar to me--many were those who faithfully like my posts, send comments, tags, personal emails (even those that I havent replied to) And I realized subhanallah I couldnt delete even one without feeling absolutely guilty!!! How could I be so unfair and assume someone doesnt want to be included in my friends list anymore??? This made me realize that your friendship and support, dear fb friends, really is precious to me. I wouldnt want to give up even one of you!!! You truly are a GIFT from God to me--I cannot understand how this list became so huge--and all I can conclude is that Allah swt has BLESSED me with your friendships. Many would say these cyber-friendships are not real and one shouldnt take these seriously. But over the years, I have begun to feel a deep connection to all of you especially because you make an effort to reach out to me. I may not respond to all your emails but I read each and every one--and I do look at the names on the lists of likes and read every single comment. I do this because it helps me understand what posts are especially touching and meaningful to which one of you. And it sure motivates me without a doubt. I realize these are not just cyber-friendships especially when I actually meet you in person, my fb friends, at various mosques around my city and around the world. When you come to hug me and act like we are best friends reuniting after years apart--even though we have actually met for the FIRST time--I realize then that we have built a familiarity and bond that is almost surreal!!! The love of Allah swt and the Ahlulbayt (a.s) brings us together in the most beautiful of ways and strengthens our love every single day!! I feel so so blessed with the gift of YOU ALL in my life. I sincerely love you all!!! Yes, this means all 5000 of you on this page, all 2293 on my other page and all 3160 followers (or subscribers) too. I love you ALL!! GOD BLESS YOU ameen!!! Many often write fb status updates to warn friends that they may get deleted (due to inactivity or even due to having outgrown them etc). I am writing this status to say--I AM NOT DELETING EVEN ONE OF YOU!!! lol!!! If you get deleted, please know it is facebook automatically doing that.
