FB/ Why was the word “tree” used in The Garden? What did God intend for us to learn from the use of the word “tree”? “Tree” is a noun that means “a plant having a permanently woody main stem or trunk, ordinarily growing to a considerable height and usually developing branches at some distance from the ground.” The reason that Allah used the picture of a “tree” is because of the extreme value of a tree! Trees give us shade from the sun that is a welcomed covering; trees take in carbon dioxide, and give off oxygen; and some trees “bear fruit”… So “The Garden of Eden” was filled with a plenteous food for Adam and Eve to eat; the trees of that Garden so plenteous, that they constantly were feeding oxygen: The very breath, or energy of life to all. Therefore, the reason that God uses in the Bible and Holy Qur’an a “tree” is that if you’re going to make a contrary man to rule who will create mischief and cause the shedding of blood, that made man will not function as “a natural tree”: He will not take in “carbon dioxide,” and give you something that gives you life! He’ll do the opposite: He’ll see The Truth, hear The Truth; take it in—and interpret it in a way that gives you death, and leads to complete ruin. So this contrary man, who is not a natural man, is giving back to you not “oxygen,” or the breath or spirit of life, but he’s giving you something like carbon monoxide, which causes sleep, and ultimately, death. “Carbon monoxide” is “a colorless, odorless gas that first puts you to sleep, and then causes you to die.” Satan is just like this, because he “approaches”—and he looks innocuous, or harmless; in other words, you may not “see a color,” or “sense an odor.” His words are like carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas, so that when you inhale his lies, “you go to sleep.” And the more you continue to inhale, you eventually die. And this is why we must expose The Lie and The Liar.
