FBI News.... FBI Youth Leadership Academy 2014 03/20/14 The Portland Division will hold its fifth annual FBI Youth Leadership Academy July 16-18, 2014. The academy gives motivated high school students the chance to develop leadership skills by engaging them in team-building experiences, exposing them to careers in law enforcement, and encouraging them to communicate and collaborate across cultures. Participants have direct interaction with FBI special agents and community leaders throughout the program. Activities will include interview/resume skills, physical fitness, hands-on forensics work, and participation in a mock crime scene investigation. Students must attend all days of the academy, and we anticipate offering more opportunities for graduates of the program throughout the upcoming school year. We are accepting applications from students who will be attending a high school in the Portland-metro area in 2014-15. Oregon students outside the metro area are welcome to apply, but the FBI does not offer transportation or accommodations for participants. The application deadline is May 9, 2014. If you wish to apply, please ensure that you submit a complete application packet, including: Application, including required approvals from a parent/guardian and your school Indemnity form Essay Applications may be: Mailed to: FBI Youth Leadership Academy 9109 NE Cascades Parkway Portland, OR 97220 Scanned and e-mailed to: [email protected] Subject line: FBI Youth Leadership Academy Faxed to: (503) 460-8026 For more information, contact Public Affairs Specialist Beth Anne Steele.
