FBK MONDAY, JANUARY 27 Genesis 16:1-6 WHEN YOU GO AHEAD OF GOD Sarahs scheme failed when she told Abram to take Hagar, her maidservant to be his wife. When Hagar conceived, Sarah became so jealous and despised Hagar, leading her to deal with Hagar in a very hard manner. This led Hagar to flee and leave from their place. Ishmael, the child of Hagar was the progenitor of the Arabs, the traditional enemies of the Jewish people. Moreover Mohammed, the founder of Islam, whose adherents from Christianitys most difficult missionary problem, came from the line of Ishmael. Islam is the world religion which is perhaps, closest to Christianity; thus it is the hardest to penetrate with the Gospel of Christ. One mistake can lead to a terrible disaster in the future. Let us not be haste in making a decision whether it is a major or a minor one. Our actions must depend on the will of God, not on our own will alone.
