FCC 30 overs season 14-15, Game 3 vs Warriors, Silver Star Park Knights won the toss and elected to bat first on a sunny day. The innings did not start as planned with both openers Pati and Leslie back in the hut early in the 4th over. The innings gained momentum with the 3rd wicket partnership of Vijay and captain Krunal who put on 47 runs together to boost the score to 65 at the end of 10 overs. Their counter attack included some brilliant square drives, cuts and pull shots that can be viewed in the video below. A sudden change in conditions and incessant rains helped warriors get back into the game as they got both Bhange and Vijay out with the score at 85/4 at the end of 16 overs. Despite challenging batting conditions the Knights middle order trio of Parulekar, Kiran and Reddy proved to resilient by forming a couple of crucial partnerships in the latter stages of the innings that helped Classy Knights Cricket Club achieve a decent score of 163 at the end of the 30 overs. With the sun coming out at the end of the innings the conditions seemed to heavily favor the home team. But it did not stop the Knights opening bowlers Rao and Vijay to pick up 3 early wickets and restrict warriors to 35 runs at the end of the 8 over mandatory power-play. The match that seemed to be balanced until this point took a dramatic turnaround with the magical spell of Nagesh who was returning to the side after a long lay off. He turned out to be the star performer as the spun the match towards knights by picking up 4 wickets in quick succession. He was ably supported by Himavanth and Kiran from the other end who wrapped up the warriors innings for 96 runs. With this comprehensive 67 runs victory Knights start the new year with a win and make it a hatrick in the Florida Cricket Conference 30 over season.
