The following students represented the College– NzimakoYadera, IbiamDaniella, Emma-IwuagwuAdaiheoma, NkwochaFranca and Uwakonye Chika. Our school came first out of 28 schools. 3.00 IMPORTANT INFORMATION 3.01 DISCIPLINE:In our bid tomaintain a reputation for high standards of discipline, we have not relented in our efforts to nip the excesses of erring students in the bud. We therefore continue to appeal to parents/guardians to closely monitor their children’s/ward’ sbehaviours, so as to detect very early, any negative peer group influence which may in time become detrimental to the future of our young girls.Parents of our next set of SS 3 students should start early now, to advise their children/wards. 3.02 PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES All fees must be paid on or before the first day of school resumption. Bank drafts should be purchased from the Banks stated on the bills. All drafts should be submitted directly to the College Accounts Department, where school receipts will be issued. 3.03 CONTRABAND ITEMS Parents should help their children to become law abiding citizens. The school insists that students must not return to school with contraband goods like cell phones, canned food (e.g.) geisha, sardine and liquid milk, cartons of any sort, jams in bottles, tins, drinks in cans/bottles and juice in cans/bottles. Powdered milk, milo, ovaltine and other chocolate drinks in tins/bottles must be put in plastic containers. This decision was reached by the college authority because our students now generate a lot of refuse, which contributes to the environmental degradation of the collegecompound. This College desires to maintain a clean and beautiful environment. We appeal to parents to assist us in achieving this feat. 3.04 HEALTH Parents are advised to run a thorough medical check-up on their daughters during the long vacation. Students who are on special medications should lodge them with the College Clinic. Asthmatic studentsMUST return to school with at least two inhalers. Many parents send their asthmatic children back to the college with one near-empty bottle of inhaler. This is not good enough. Parents should not expose their children to such dangerous life-threatening situations when they suddenly have crisis and the inhalers are depleted. 3.05 GCE NOVEMBER/DECEMBER The Federal Ministry of Education prohibits her students from taking this examination while in school. Students who register for and sit for the above exams, shall face very serious sanctions. During the first term of the 2013/2014 academic session, medical papers from hospitals claiming that any studentis ill, shall be sent early to the College and they shall be investigated while the student is still admitted in hospital. Late medical papers which are not investigated by the College, shall not be accepted ,by the College. The student shall be deemed to have participated in the November/ December GCE. 3.06 CLUBS AND SOCIETIES For the all-round development of students, parents are reminded, to encourage their children/wards to belong to club/societies in the school. Every student must belong to at least two clubs in the college. Club dues are already enshrined in the college bills. 3.07 SCRATCH CARDS Students are to return to school with the sum of (₦750.00 ) seven hundred and fifty naira only, for the purchase of their scratch cards for accessing their termly results and holiday projects/assignments on-line. The amount is paid onlyoncein a session. 3. 08 HOLIDAY ASSIGNMENTS/ICT LITERACY CAMPAIGN Students of JSS 2, JSS 3, SS l , SS ll and SS 3 classes in September have been given holiday assignments /projects as part of their continuous assessment. The assessments /projects can be found on the school’s website fggcowerridetails. The assignments should be submitted on the first day of classes, in September 2013. Parents are advised to help us ensure, that students access the assignments on the website by themselves. This is part of their training in ICT. 3.09 STUDENTS’ RESULTS Parents and students can access all the 2012/2013 examination results at the school’s website. 4.00 ON-COMING EVENTS 4.01 COLLEGE 40TH ANNIVERSARY The College will be 40 years old in November, 2013. We wish to use this opportunity to invite you all to come and celebrate with us, on the 16th of November, 2013. 4.02 NISSMUN:The Nigerian International Secondary Schools Model United Nations comes up at Abuja from the 26th to 30th October, 2013. Parents of selected students should please provide them with the necessary requirements as they return to the college. 4.03 RESUMPTION The college will resume on the 15th of September, 2013. Any student who fails to return on or before 6.00p.m.on that day will not be allowed into the school compound for another one week. Parents should desist from sending their children/wards back to school at very late hours in the night unaccompanied. The College gate is normally locked up at 6.00p.m. What this means, is that such parents willingly expose their children to all manner of people outside the College gate. I also wish to appeal to parents, to assist the College in its quest to maintain excellence in all areas of life, by keeping the children positively engaged during the long vacation: by registering them for holiday programmes like computer training, Skills Acquisition Programmes and for French Lessons at the Alliance Francaise. They should also be made to assist in household chores. Above all, learn to spend quality time with them and try to know them better. When you stay close to them, you become their friends. Friends confide in each other. Friends strive to please each other, always. 4.04 GREETINGS I wish you all, a peaceful and enjoyable long vacation period with your daughters and their other siblings. God bless you all. ELDER (MRS.) P. I. EFOBI Director/Principal
