FEEL GOOD FRIDAY - SMILE, YOURE ON CAMERA! By Miriam Mukasa I have an old friend named Paul (not his real name since hes very modest), who I have known for over 8 years. In all this time, I have yet to witness a day when Paul does not have a ready smile on his face. Pauls smile is infectious and he has a way of making every single person feel special, be they a CEO or Janitor, Paul extends the same warmth, smile and courtesy to all around him, no matter what their background or position. Too often, we go about our daily businesses with one big thing missing - a smile! A smile is infectious, it is contagious, few people who receive a smile will not smile back. When you are approaching someone and you extend your hand to shake theirs, give them a warm smile first and watch the immediate effect this has. If you are a shy person, smiling is the quickest way to break the ice, so try doing this, instead of worrying about opening a conversation. Of course you may not be able to find much to smile about but I always remember my friend Paul who, despite having his fair share of tragedies and bad luck, still continues to smile every day. So, try it out today. Remember, a real smile involves both the mouth and eyes. Smile at a stranger or colleague whom you dont know and see their reaction! Sending you lots of smiles on this Friday.
