FEEL TO HEAL: So much is written about the relationship between letting things go, forgiving and healing. The way I see it? You have to be willing to feel it: ALL. It has to come out of the stored places in your cells, tissues and bones. Like squeezing out a really wet sponge. You have to change the thought processes and fear/blame/anger/guilt/shame programs that caused the wounds or illness in the first place. Forgiveness, when misunderstood, can become a one-sided copout or temporary relief mechanism. Youre still giving your power away in the guise of taking it back through love, surrender and acceptance. Not the whole equation. Thats just more inauthentic denial and self repression. Weve been religiously brainwashed to forgive. But youll get to a place where you see life less as drama and trauma and all as karma and choice. And mirroring. Not in a blame the victim way. But in an empowering: there are no victims way. Youll remember, in the deepest, oldest, wisest part of you that theres truly never a need to forgive when you live and let live. And that love...is a gift not an obligation. You wont have to be the bigger person or the better one. You wont have to force yourself to pretend that the way someone treated you was ok or that you shouldnt take it personally. It wasnt ok. And everything is personal when youre a person. But youll stop letting the I should really forgive and let go feeling crystallize the wound even further. Let yourself be sad, angry, disappointed, embarrassed, confused. And feel where and how that shows up in your body. Dont have guilt about still feeling a wound that you wish you still didnt feel. Guilt just makes it stickier and more dense. Be gentle with yourself around those stuck and hurt places. Trust that they are an important part of your healing and evolving and remembering your core wholeness. And let yourself be with whatever comes up. Without judging it. Then? Liberation is real. Emotional freedom is yours. And radiant wellbeing is restored.~Courtney A. Walsh
