FG suspends NFF N235m monthly grant I must confess I know just enough about football and its administration to enable me put in an occasional word, nod or grunt when I am in the midst of a discussion about the game. I have never really been interested and don’t worry, I am not about to start talking football at this time. However, at the risk of being buffeted for commenting on a subject I know close to nothing about, I will still go ahead to say good job to Jo boy on the above news. Well done bro. I know enough (I think) to be irritated by the overbearing meddlesomeness of FIFA in government’s relationship with its FA. Particularly those governments that fully or largely fund the FA. Of course, I appreciate FIFA’s standpoint in their zero tolerance attitude to government interference but there ought to be a limit and I think they would be right if it were restricted to elections and appointments into the FA. The not so intellectual first response would be to say that FIFA should know that he who pays the Piper will surely dictate the tune especially where the Piper continues to show, over the years, that he is disturbingly inefficient, unabashedly corrupt and grossly incompetent. On a slightly higher cerebral plane, is FIFA saying that if moni miss inside any FA, make government no talk make FA no answer? Are FA officials above the law? I don’t understand. Let the FA begin to fund itself if it wants to be totally independent. FIFA too should add moni join so that they can both continue to roll around gleefully in their stupendous corruptness. I probably have mixed up the issues involved in the matter at hand but then, its football. Wetin ‘consign’ me? Jo boy, ku ise jare. On this matter ni kan ni sha o. (ok, maybe on the Boko wahala too) Cheers
