FIGHT NIGHT!! Well this was an interesting card, with about 3 fighters (Josh Koschek, Cheal Sonnen and Sugar Rashaad Evens) on the brink of hanging it up with poor performances ..and a very interesting title fight.. Lets get to the action.. In the Main Event..for the 170 lb welterweight title was George St. Pierre vs. a very tough bearded Johnny Hendricks. GSP has not lost since 2006 and is clearly the poster child for the UFC..while Hendricks looks like a Confederate soldier or that he plays for the Boston Red Sox.. Round by round the action NON-STOP..like a true title fight should be. IN MY OPINION..Hendricks controlled the match. He won the first after nearly getting guillotined in first minute. His punches were very hard and GSP was getting more and more busted up and bruised as the fight continues. Hendricks easily takes the second, loses the third and DOMINATES the 4th taking GSP down(which is VERY rare) and just hamming him with ground and pound until GSP has 3 or maybe even 4 cuts on his face. JH takes the 5th off figuring hes won the fight and everyone has Hendricks winning 3 rounds to 2. As Lee Corso likes to say..not so fast..2 of the judges gave GSP the first and GSP wins a split decision..to retain the title. Hendricks does not have a single mark on him and GSP looks like someone beat him with a ball bat. Unreal. My wife Heather thought Hendricks did not dominate enough to take the title..but the other 3 at my house all disagreed thinking that Hendricks was the new champion. 16 out of 16 writers who scored the fight on line thought Hendricks won..like Dana says..never leave it in the hands of the judges. When Hendricks had GSP down and covered up and wobbly..he shoulda finished him. TERRIBLE decision. Go to mmaweekly for photos of GSP and Hendricks post fight photos and comments. As for the others..Cheal gets the shit beat out of him in 2 minutes as Rashaad looked awesome and motivated like we have not seen in years..Chael needs to hang it up and make his money in broadcasting. He looked untrained and soft for this fight. Robbie Lawler had an outstanding performance in beating a super great fighter in Rory Mcdonald..that is 3 ws in a row for Ruthless since coming back to the UFC. Josh Koshcek lost his 3rd in a row getting KOed by Saint Louis resident Tyrone Woodly. It was like Deebo knocking the F#ck ou that dude in the movie Friday..all we needed was Chris Tucker standing over him yelling in his face. One final note the Lees Summit guy (TIm Elliot)fought on the main card..and got beat worst than the Tigers did Friday night against Blue Springs. A bunch of fights coming up on free TV in the next month before the big Silva Wiman rematch..so be watching!!
