FIHI CEO Roderick K. King Joins Hogg Foundation for Mental Health’s National Advisory Council December 8, 2014 (Austin, TX) – Roderick K. King, M.D., M.P.H, Chief Executive Officer of the Florida Institute for Health Innovation (FIHI) has been appointed to the National Advisory Council for the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health at the University of Texas at Austin to provide insight regarding the integration of behavioral health and primary care. The nationally recognized Texas foundation funds mental health services, policy analysis, research and public education in order to advance recovery and wellness in Texas. The 10-member advisory council offers critical guidance and expertise to the Hogg Foundation regarding strategic direction, major grant initiatives and projects that will determine the foundation’s direction for maximum impact. Council members have Texas-based or national expertise in mental health, consumer advocacy, public health, philanthropy and other fields related to the foundation’s mission of promoting the mental health of all Texans. “Throughout his professional career, Dr. King has championed the idea of collaborative action toward building healthy communities,” said Dr. Octavio N. Martinez, Jr., Executive Director of the Hogg Foundation and Vice President for Diversity and Community Engagement at the University of Texas at Austin. “Given everything that the foundation is doing in the area of minority health policy, integrated care, and improving the health of underserved communities, Dr. King is a natural fit for our advisory council.
